Community Service Internship
During the second year in the program, student fellows put their leadership skills into action through community service internships. These provide them extensive opportunities to practice their leadership in the community. Student fellows design their own internships, choosing from existing sites or a limitless variety of new possibilities. Through the community service internships, approximately 4,500 hours of community service are provided annually.
Dave Bonsall gives a shout out to Clairisa Laws from Ice Block. He spoke with Doug Russell,
Executive Director of Room at the Inn, who announced how excited he was to have
Clairisa working with him on planning and implementing programs and events in conjunction with
Homeless Awareness Week in November. Doug went on to say that Clairisa has worked with a homeless shelter
in her hometown and was bringing a lot of ideas and energy to their planning. Way to go, Clairisa!!
