2015 Celebration Submission Instructions

*NOTE - If the number of celebration entries surpasses the time and/or space available, applications will be accepted in the order they were received. LIMITED PRESENTATION TIMES.
Notifications of acceptance/room assignment/time will be sent via e-mail no later than April 2, 2015.

Poster Posters can be any size from 2' x 2' to 3' x 4' (24" x 24" to 36" to 48") and can be printed in color or black and white (black and white is very affordable). Posters do not have to be mounted. Check with NMU Printing Services (227-2454) for ordering options and cost. **Submit your order as soon as possible

Office Max can also print posters up to 2' tall. For awards, posters will be judged on the quality, clarity, significance, design and presentation of information, not color.

NOTE: If you plan to use your poster in a future event, check to make sure to match their specifications.


Clearly include name of student(s) on the poster.  Submitter(s) encouraged to stand by their poster on the 1st floor of Jamrich Hall between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. as their schedule permits. Wednesday, April 8th between 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. in LRC Room 224.

Posters received after 2 p.m. will not be included in the judging by can still be displayed. Staff will be available in Room 224 until 4:30 p.m. on 4/8.

DROP OFF: LRC Room 224 (main level of library at back-north side) on Wednesday, 4/8 by 2 p.m. Posters that are not mounted will be clipped on cardboard display boards.

PICK-UP: Posters can be picked up from the first floor of Jamrich Hall between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 9th.

If not picked up by 5 p.m., they will be available in the Graduate Education and Research Office (401 Cohodas) until Tuesday, May 5, 2015. If not picked up by this date, they will be recycled.

Posters will be divided into Graduate, Undergraduate and Group (more than 1 student preparing) categories. First, second and third place ribbons will be given in each category. All winners will be notified the evening of April 8th and the 1st place winners will be encouraged to be at the opening ceremony on Thursday, April 9th at 9 a.m. to receive award and have photo taken.
Oral Presentation

A maximum of 10 minutes for presentation with a 5 minute discussion/question session. The room is equipment with a projector, laptop,
screen and remote slide controller. If the presentation requires a computer file, it should be saved to a flash drive for use in the computer provided in LRC 109. If special software or a MacBook is needed, please bring your mobile device and have it on and ready to be plugged in to the projector at your presentation time.

Moderators will introduce each speaker and will provide time cues for the last 3 minutes of the presentation. The schedule must stay on time with no more than 15 minutes total for each presenter.

Wednesday, April 8th between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. ONLY if you would like your file loaded on to the presentation room computer. You can choose to simply bring your flash drive to your presentation on April 9.

and it will be loaded
on the computer the
presentation room.

Art Display Must be able to be displayed on an easel, table or free-standing in high traffic area. Student is encouraged to stand by their art display on the first floor of Jamrich Hall between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. as their schedule permits. May be turned in Wednesday, April 8th between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in Room 224 (main level of library in back-north side) or make alternate arrangements by contacting graduate@nmu.edu.

Bring to LRC 224 on Wednesday, 4/8 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

From 1st floor of Jamrich Hall between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday, 4/9.
