Cowles 17th at Junior Worlds
MARQUETTE – United States Olympic Education Center weightlifter Sara Cowles (Daytona Beach, Fla.) placed in the top 20 at Junior Worlds on Wednesday (June 16) in Sophia, Bulgaria.
Cowles earned a total of 155 kilograms after snatching 70 kg and lifting 85 kg in the clean-and-jerk. She placed 17th in the 58 kg weight class.
Robin Feuerman (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) competed Thursday (June 17) at 63 kg. After completing her first snatch at 69 kg she missed the remaining two and all three in the clean-and-jerk. No total was posted.
Competition will continue through Sunday, June 20.
