Dance - General Information

The NMU Dance Team is made up of dedicated and talented young women who represent the University in a positive and spirited manner. Members on our team have diverse backgrounds, including classical ballet, hip-hop dance, cheerleading squads, gymnastics, kick lines and elite pompon programs. This diversity makes our team remarkable because we draw on one another's strengths to succeed. As a team, we have the opportunity to perform at many home varsity football, volleyball, and basketball games, as well as various University functions. The NMU Dance Team also has the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level at competitions located throughout the Midwest.  As a team, we have competed at the Ashwaubenon Invite in Green Bay, WI and at the DX Americup Competition in Minneapolis, MN where last year the team earned the title of Pom Champions!  Through performances, appearances, and volunteer activities, the Northern Michigan University Dance Team serves as NMU ambassadors.
