Triathlon Heat Schedules
|Start Times||Heat Types||Fees|
Where does the event take place?
The 2015 Chilly Willy Triathlon will take place in the PEIF Pool and the PEIF Recreation Center. These facilities are connected, so participants will cross into the PEIF Recreation Center to reach the next section of the triathlon.
What type of equipment in provided?
Participants are required to provide their own equipment such as swim suits, caps, and biking and running shoes. Refreshments and towels will be provided.
How are heats scheduled?
Heats will consist of 8 participants. Each heat will have 10 minutes of transition time from the swim/bike sections and 5 minutes of transition time from the bike/run sections. Heats will be co-ed, and registrants will be seeded on a first come first serve basis. Registrants will be notified of their heat time at least 48 hours prior to the event.
How are Chilly Willy champions determined?
Since the amount of time spent on each section is identical for each participant (30 minutes per section), champions are determined by the overall total distance traveled. Volunteers will record the total laps (swimming) and miles (biking and running) completed during the event. The total distance traveled will determine the champions for each age group (top three finishers). In addition to individual age group champions, there will be an overall male and female chilly willy champion. There are no awards for teams.
How are age groups divided?
Age groups are listed below. Each age group is divided into male and female sections. Prizes are awarded for overall and category winners based on distance traveled.
