Dustin Collins is entering his second season as the strength and conditioning coach with the Northern Michigan hockey team.
Collins lettered for four years with the Wildcats from 2003-07. He appeared in 137 games, scoring 11 goals and recording 14 assists.
Collins was a member of the Under 17 and Under 18 USA National Development Program from 2001-03. He was the first Arizona native drafted by the National Hockey League when he went in the fifth round to the Tampa Bay Lightning (163 overall).
After graduating from NMU, Collins played professionally in the American Hockey League for the Springfield Falcons, Rockford IceHogs, Manchester Monarchs, Manitoba Moose, San Antonio Rampage, Toronto Marlies and Oklahoma City Barons. He also suited up for the Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League, and the Ontario Reign and the Florida Everblades of the East Coast Hockey League. He was a member of the 2008 Arizona Sundog championship team and the 2009 AHL Calder Cup Finalist Manitoba Moose.
Collins resides in Marquette with his wife Sam and their dog Gus.
