Jennifer Granstrand returns to the sidelines as the assistant coach of the NMU soccer team. She spent time in the same position from 2005-09.
Granstrand was a four-time all-South Eastern Conference selection at Vanderbilt University (1993-98) and a three-time all-region first team. The Commodores were two-time SEC champions and appeared in the round of 16 appearances in the NCAA Tournament three times. Granstrand was a team captain and played in the Umbro Division I All-Star Game.
Granstrand was a member of the Olympic Development Program from 1992-96. She was on the Tennessee and South Region teams. Granstrand was in the Top 36 National Team Pool and National Camp Selection Player. She played in the Thanksgiving Soccer Festival with the South Region Team.
In Franklin High School (Franklin, Tenn.) Granstrand was a two-time high school All-American and four-time all-state first team selection on a four-time state championship team.
Granstrand was the assistant men’s and women’s soccer coach at Lakeland College (Sheboygan, Wis.) during the 1998 season.
Granstrand currently resides in Negaunee with her husband Matt (head soccer coach at NMU) and son Owen.
