Men’s Hoops Hosts MTU Huskies
MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University men’s basketball team returns home on Saturday (Feb. 2) to face Michigan Technological University in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. from the Berry Events Center.
Northern is 4-14 overall and 3-11 in the GLIAC. The Wildcats had a pair of losses at Lake Superior State and at Northwood last weekend.
Junior forward Matthew Craggs averages 14.3 points a game for NMU, and sophomore forward Kendall Jackson leads the rebound column with a 6.2 average. Seven players average better than seven points per game.
MTU (13-5, 10-4 GLIAC) is currently on a three-game winning streak after wins at LSSU and Northwood and sits in third place in the North Division of the GLIAC. The Huskies were victorious over the Timberwolves 79-65 on Thursday and then received an 83-79 overtime win over the Lakers on Saturday.
