NMU Runners Do Not Advance

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Northern Michigan University cross country team saw its streak of six consecutive trips to the NCAA II National Championships end on Saturday at the NCAA II Great Lakes Regional Cross Country Championships which were held at UW-Parkside. The top three teams at the event will advance to the NCAA II National Championships which will be held in Pensacola, Fla. on Saturday, Nov. 18.
 
Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) foe Grand Valley State won the event with 47 points. The host school, UW-Parkside, was second with 91 points and another GLIAC member The University of Findlay was third (136). NMU was sixth with 228 points.
 
Earning all-region honors was Kelly Ahern as she placed 15th with a time of 22:44.0. Lindsay Williams was 33rd as she covered the course in a time of 23:12.5. The next three ‘Cats to cross the finish line were Brooke Rediger 40th (23:31.2), Laura DeWitt 50th (23:49.4) and Stephanie Mishica 90th (24:34.4). Bibiane Mahy 94th (24:39.6) and Lindsey Weier 122nd (25:14.8) ran in the event, but were not eligible for team points.
