Casey Wilcox Scores Big Goal

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Casey Wilcox might have scored the biggest goal in Northern Michigan University soccer history. She scored at the 83rd minute to give the Wildcats a 1-0 win over Northwood on Sunday. With the win it could very well send the ‘Cats to the NCAA II National Tournament. The field will be announced on Monday, Oct. 30.
 
NMU is currently 16-2 overall on the season and 6-2 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). The Timberwolves end the season at 4-14 and 0-8 respectively.
 
Celia Sturos assisted on Wilcox’s second goal of the season. Kara Music improves to 15-2 on the season with her ninth shutout. She had two saves on the day.
 
NMU dominated the game with 22 shots and 10 corner kicks.  The Timberwolves had two shots and one corner kick.
