Runners Third at GLIAC Championships

FINDLAY, Ohio – The Northern Michigan University cross country team placed third at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Cross Country Championships which was held at The University of Findlay on Saturday. The Wildcats scored 120 team points as Grand Valley State won the team title with 27 points and Findlay was second (80).
 
Kelly Ahern led the ‘Cats with a 10th place showing (22:08.4). Lindsay Williams was the next ‘Cat to cross the finish line in 23rd (22:49.8). Brooke Rediger was the third ‘Cat to finish the race in 26th (23:01.4).
 
The next two ‘Cats to break the tape were Lindsey Weier (23:06.7) and Bibiane Mahy (23:09.0) as they were 30th and 31st respectively. Laura DeWitt ran a 23:17.0, which was good for 36th. The final ‘Cat runner to cross the finish line was Kyle Richards in 41st (23:27.0).
 
NMU will be back in action in a couple of weeks at the NCAA II Great Lakes Regional Championships in Kenosha, Wis. The event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4.
