MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University cross country team ran away with the team title at the Wildcat Open on Friday (Oct. 6). NMU tallied 25 team points as Michigan Tech was second (37).
Lindsay Williams placed third overall in the female college division with a time of 12:06.6. Kelly Ahern was the next Wildcat about two seconds behind Williams in fourth place (12:08.2). The ‘Cats had the next three places for team points. Laura DeWitt was fifth (12:10.3) as she was followed by Bibane Mahy (12:13.2) and Stephanie Mishica (12:20.9).
Others runners for NMU: Brooke Rediger (12:35.3), Brittney Coehoorn (12:39.5), Christina Gillis (12:40.4), Kyle Richards (12:43.1), Maegan Hendershot (12:53.6), Catie Cogger (12:56.1), Stephanie Ostrenga (13:00.7), Anna Berglund (13:02.1), Maria Grosi (13:04.2), Tanya Cook (13:14.5), Jenny Wygant (13:22.8), Jenny Wiedmeyer (13:28.8), Jenny Groshek (13:31.3), Jessica Kalafut (13:38.8), Ingrid Fjeldheim (13:41.1), Megan Hoklas (13:47.6), Tasha Kettula (14:30.3) and Danielle DeJonge (14:44.4).
The runners will compete at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational on Oct. 14 before the GLIAC Championships the next weekend.
