MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Bulldogs of Ferris State University were all business at the Vandament on Saturday afternoon as they took care of the Northern Michigan University Wildcats in three straight in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) volleyball match. FSU won the match by scores of 24-30, 21-30, 27-30. NMU has now suffered two losses in a row and four of the last five. The ‘Cats fall to 12-4 overall and 4-4 in the GLIAC. FSU improves to 12-3 and 4-2 respectively.
Sam Schulte was the lone ‘Cat in double-digits in kills with 10. As a team NMU had 32 kills for the match in 96 total attempts for a hitting percentage of .177. Brittany McGowan led NMU with 14 assists while teammate Rachel Martinez added 11.
Kate Olechny registered three of the five service aces for the ‘Cats on the day. Cassie Osiecki led NMU with 15 digs for the match. At the net the ‘Cats just had four blocks for the match as they were all block assists.
NMU hits the road this coming week as they will tangle with GLIAC South foes Wayne State (Sept. 29) and Hillsdale (Sept. 30).
