ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Northern Michigan University cross country team ran against some stiff competition on Saturday at the Roy Griak Invitational which was held at the University of Minnesota. NMU placed fifth at the event with 171 points as Black Hills State won the Division II category with 96 points.
Kelly Ahern led the ‘Cats with a top 20 finish. She placed 14th with a time of 23:25. Lindsay Williams (24:07) and Bibiane Mahy (24:07) were next for the ‘Cats in 34th and 35th respectively. Brooke Rediger (24:08) was the fourth runner to score points as she placed 38th. The fifth and final runner to score for the ‘Cats was Lindsey Weier, who ran the course in a time of 24:23, which was good for 50th place.
Laura DeWitt and Stephanie Mishica ran in the event, but did not score any team points. DeWitt was 60th (24:34) while Mishica was 62nd (24:36).
The runners’ next action will be at home on Friday, Oct. 6.
