MARQUETTE, Mich. – A total of nine different Wildcats had at least one kill in Northern Michigan’s 3-0 win (30-20, 31-29, 30-10) over Gannon on Friday night at the Vandament Arena. The win gives the ‘Cats its 10th straight win and second conference win of the season (10-0, 2-0 GLIAC).  The Golden Knights fall to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
Sam Schulte led the ‘Cats with 10 kills on the night. Katt Garvick added eight in the win. Brittany McGowan had a team-high 23 assists while teammate Rachel Martinez added 11 helpers. McGowan added a match-high four service aces and 16 digs.
Cassie Osiecki led the ‘Cats on the defensive end with 17 digs. Megan Elliott and Breanne Zaremba added 13 and 10 digs respectively. At the net Schulte and Zaremba had five block assists each.
NMU will host Mercyhurst tomorrow afternoon (Sept. 9 at 5 p.m.) for another GLIAC showdown.
