MIDLAND, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University women’s soccer team opened up the 2006 campaign at Northwood University in Midland, Mich. on Friday. The ‘Cats were not playing GLIAC foe the Timberwolves of Northwood, but UW-Parkside. 
Renee LeBlanc chipped the ball in for the lone score of the day as the ‘Cats won 1-0. Her scored came 60:00 into the game. Kara Music, playing her first game in a NMU uniform, had two saves on the day. 
NMU had nine shots for the game with no corner kicks. UWP had 11 shots and 10 corner kicks. 
NMU will continue on the road with a game against NCAA I Youngstown State on Sunday (Aug. 27).
