PUEBLO, Colo. â€Â“ Holly Cole had a career gamefor the Northern Michigan University womenâ€Â™s basketball team on Saturday at theMarzolf-Al Kaly Shrine Classic at Colorado State University-Pueblo as the â€Â˜Catsdefeated Nebraska-Kearney (1-2) 70-67.  Cole the sophomore from St. Ignace, Mich. had a career-high 28 points for the game.  She was 9-15 from the floor,9-13 in three-pointers and 1-2 from the free throw line.  With the win theâ€Â˜Cats are now 2-0 on the season.


NMU held a four point lead at the half at 39-35, but weredown by seven points with less than six minutes left in the game.  TiffanyGrubaugh had 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists and five steals for thegame.  Tera Opperman was the third â€Â˜Cat to hit for double-digits with her 10points, four assists and four steals.  For the game, NMU had 17 steals as ateam.  Nebraska-Kearney had the advantage on the boards for the game with a48-32 edge.


The â€Â˜Cats were 25-54 from the floor for the game (46.3percent), 13-24 in three-pointers (54.2 percent) and 7-11 from the free throwline (63.6 percent). 


NMU is back in action next weekend at the Ashland Tournamentas the â€Â˜Cats face Tiffin University in first day play on Saturday, Nov. 27.
