Craig Kowalski With Carolina Hurricanes

RALEIGH, N.C. â€Â“ Former Northern Michigan University goaltender Craig Kowalski is a non-roster practice goaltender for theCarolina Hurricanes.  Carolina is currently up 2-1 against the Edmonton Oilersin the Stanley Cup finals. Kowalski played for NMU from 2000-04.  He left NMUwith career records for most saves (3,434), most shutouts (12) and games played(132).  Kowalski would be eligible to be added to the roster if one of thegoaltenders is injured.

 

Kowalski spent time with the Florida Everblades of the EastCoast Hockey League and the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey Leagueduring the past season.  With the Everblades he was 12-6-1 with a 2.80goals-against average and a .915 save percentage.  Kowalski was reassigned tothe Lock Monsters in early January where he went 4-7-1 with a 3.02goals-against average and a .918 save percentage.
