MARQUETTE, Mich. â€Â“ Bernie Anderson, the head football coach at Northern Michigan University,announces the addition of four more players who have signed on to join the NMUfootball team.  Joining the Wildcats are two players from Detroitand two from Florida.


â€ÂœWe have made our team faster and better with the additionof these four recruits.  I feel confident two will play and help us nextyear,â€Â Andersonsaid.  â€ÂœRicky Neaves was a top prospect in thestate of Floridaand Travis Holmes has been a starter at the NCAA I level.â€Â


Travis Holmes, DB, 5-9, 170, Raines High School

  • Jacksonville, Fla.
  • Two-year letterwinner at the University of Central Florida
  • Career high 11 tackles against Kent State in 2004
  • 10 career high school interceptions
  • Competed in soccer, track and field, and wrestling in high school


Ricky Neaves, DB, 6-0, 194, Cooper City High School

  • Cooper City, Fla.
  • Ranked the 19th player in the nation at the 2005 Nike Combines (Nike hosts 12 combines in the U.S.)
  • Listed in the Miami Herald as one of the top 20 recruits (11th)
  • Ran a 4.37 40-yard dash at the 2005 Nike Combine in Miami, Fla.


Courtney Sweeney, DB, 5-9, 190, Finney High School

  • Detroit, Mich.
  • Runs a 4.6 in the 40-yard dash
  • Three-year starter
  • Letter-winner in track and field


Lindsay West, WR, 6-1, 195, Finney High School

  • Detroit, Mich.
  • All-conference and All-area as a wide receiver
  • Versatile player; saw action in high school as a wide receiver, outside linebacker, and defensive end
  • Runs a 4.5 in the 40-yard dash
  • Vertical jump of 32 inches
  • Pro-shuttle time of sub 4.3
