FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. â€Â“ NathanOystrick and Darin Olver have been named finalist for two Central CollegiateHockey Association (CCHA) awards.  Oystrick is a finalist for the CCHAâ€Â™s BestDefensive Defenseman while Olver is a finalist for the CCHA Scholar-Athlete ofthe Year.


Oystrick last yearâ€Â™s Defensive Defenseman of the Year, islooking to repeat as the â€Â˜Cats captain is a finalist for the award for thethird consecutive year.  He is joined by Miami captain Andy Greene and Michigan junior Matt Hunwick. 


Olver was designated as NMUâ€Â™s Scholar-Athlete of the Yearand is one of 12 from the CCHA.  The CCHA Scholar-Athlete of the Year will bechosen from among the group of nominees. Ã‚  The faculty athletic representativeat each school in consultation with the head coach, selected the institutionâ€Â™sScholar-Athlete of the Year.  Each schoolâ€Â™s Scholar-Athlete of the Year servesas the schoolâ€Â™s nominee for CCHA Scholar-Athlete of the Year. 


Nominees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 through the fallterm of the selection year to receive the schoolâ€Â™s Scholar-Athlete of the Yearaward. The CCHA Scholar-Athlete is selected by the 12 faculty representatives,voting is based on a system that awards five points for a first-place vote,three points for a second-place vote and one point for a third place vote.


The winner of both awards will be announced at the 2006 CCHAAwards which will be held on Thursday, March 16 at the Fox Theatre in Detroit.
