Wildcats Finish In Eighth Place At GLIAC Indoor Track And Field Championships
FINDLAY, Ohio Ãƒ¢Ã‚€Ã‚“ The Northern Michigan University womenÃƒ¢Ã‚€Ã‚™s indoor track and field team competed at the Great LakesIntercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Indoor Track and FieldChampionships over the weekend.Ãƒ‚Ã‚ The Wildcats finished in eighth place with 16points as Grand Valley State took the womenÃƒ¢Ã‚€Ã‚™s title with 181.50 points.
Two Wildcats placed in the 800-meter run as Jacalyn Grosswas fifth in a NCAA II provisional time of 2:17.42 and teammate StephanieMishica was seventh (2:17.82).Ãƒ‚Ã‚ The 4x400 relay of Stephanie Ostrenga, Gross,Melissa Schultz and Stephanie Boyer ran a 4:05.21 which was good for eighthplace.Ãƒ‚Ã‚ Ãƒ‚Ã‚ Ãƒ‚Ã‚ In the distance medley relay event the tandem of Jessica Kalafut,Boyer, Ostrenga and Brooke Rediger placed fifth with a clocking of 12:34.30.Ãƒ‚Ã‚
Leslie Luehmann and Danielle St. Onge scored the only pointsfor the Ãƒ¢Ã‚€Ã‚˜Cats in the field events. Luehmann was eighth in the triple jump witha leap of 34-07.50 while St. Onge was fifth in the triple jump (35-11.05).
