BAY CITY, Mich. â€Â“ Michelle Ruiz hasbeen named this weekâ€Â™s Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC)Womenâ€Â™s Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week.  She provisionally qualifiedfor the NCAA II Championships with her performance on the 1 meter and 3 meterdiving boards last week.  Ruiz placed first on the 1 meter board at NMUâ€Â™s dualmeet with Grand Valley State by posting a score of 402.3.  She also recorded asecond-place finish on the 3 meter board, tallying 271.35 points.  The diverwho had a higher score was diving as an exhibition. 

These latest scores place Ruiz as the top scoring GLIACdiver on the 1 meter board this season.  Her most recent score ranks second onthe 3 meter board.
