COLERAINE, Minn. â€Â“ The Northern Michigan University womenâ€Â™s cross country ski team competed at the Mt. Itasca NorAm SuperTour over theweekend.


Tami Kochen led the Wildcats on Saturday (Jan. 21) with asecond-place showing in the collegiate 10K freestyle.  She covered the coursein a time of 27:41.10.  Two other â€Â˜Cats were in the top 10 as Laura DeWitt wasseventh (29:35.45) and Jennifer Wygant was eighth (29:59.02).  Kelly Ahern wasjust out of the top 10 in 12th place (30:58.29). Bibiane Mahy wasthe final â€Â˜Cat to cross the finish line in 20th place (31:55.34).


Kochen again led the â€Â˜Cats on Sunday (Jan. 22) with arunner-up finish in the collegiate 10K classic with a clocking of 31:45.49. The next four â€Â˜Cats to skate across the finish line were Ahern in eighth place(33:39.05); DeWitt was next in ninth (33:48.44); Wygant in 13th(34:59.37); and Mahy in 15th (35:17.68).


The team will skate at the Hayward, Wis. SuperTour eventthis weekend. Ã‚
