Will Washington's 25 Points Don't Dent The Phoenix

 

GREEN BAY, Wis. â€Â“ The Northern Michigan University menâ€Â™s basketball team saw its five-game winning streak snapped on Thursdaynight.  The Phoenix of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay handled theWildcats at the Oneida Holiday Classic by a score of 106-58.  NMU falls to 5-4on the season while UW-GB is now 5-7.

 

The â€Â˜Cats were down 57-30 at the half.  For the game NMUshot 34.8 percent from the floor (23-66) and 24.2 percent from the three-pointline (8-33).  The â€Â˜Cats only made eight trips to the free throw line andconverted half of their throws.  Off the glass, the â€Â˜Cats had 28 rebounds asthe home team grabbed 51 misses.   

 

Will Washington had a career-night with his 25 points. Marco Volcy was the only other â€Â˜Cat with double-figures as he had 12 points. Ricky Volcy ended the game with five points and five rebounds; he now stands at992 career points.  Josh Lawrence led the Phoenix with 21 points and eightrebounds. 

 

Tomorrow (Dec. 30) the â€Â˜Cats face Arkansas-Monticello at theclassic.
