Selected Skiers At World Cup

 

VERNON, B.C. â€Â“ Four skiers with ties to the Northern Michigan University cross country skiing program are currently competing in the WorldCup which is being held in Canada.  The first two races were held in Vernon, B.C.  Thursdayâ€Â™s race was held in Canmore, Alberta.

 

On Saturday, Dec. 10, Abigail Larson was 35th(46:01.6), Lindsay Williams 42nd (47:25.5) and Lindsey Weier 50th(50:02.8) in the 15K pursuit race. 

 

Sunday saw the skiers compete in the freestyle sprints. Chris Cook was 12th on the menâ€Â™s side.  Williams led the women witha 31st place showing.  She was followed by Weier and Larson in 53rdand 54th respectively.

 

Dec. 15, Thursday, the skiers competed in the 10Kfreestyle.  Larson picked up her first World Cup points with a 30thplace showing (28:53.1).  Williams skated to 47th place (30:38.2).

 

The event will continue in Camore, which was the 1988Olympic venue, over the weekend.
