MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Northern Michigan University womenâ€Â™s cross country ski team competed over the weekend in two races. Saturday (Dec. 10) the squad skated against Michigan Tech then on Sunday (Dec.11) the team traveled up the road and competed at Tech.


Tami Kochen won Saturdayâ€Â™s race at Saux Head with a time of32:24.  The â€Â˜Cats won the event over Tech, 13-8.  Jenny Wygant crossed thefinish line with a time of 34:20 which was good for fourth place Laura DeWittwas next (35:59).  Bibiane Mahy was the final â€Â˜Cat in the event as she coveredthe course in a time of 41:10.


Racing on the Huskies course on Sunday, MTU won the racewith 20 points; NMU was second with 15 and Finlandia with four.  Kochen was thetop â€Â˜Cat with a third place finish (17:07) as teammate DeWitt was fourth(17:54).


This week the team will go back up to Tech for the ChristmasClassic over the weekend (Dec. 17-18).
