MARQUETTE, Mich. â€Â“ The Northern Michigan University womenâ€Â™s cross country ski team won two events over the weekend.  OnSaturday (Dec. 3) the â€Â˜Cats won the NMU Open with 23 points as Michigan Techwas second with 12. Ã‚  Sunday the squad won the MTU Open over UW-Green Bay 18-16.


Tami Kochen was the top â€Â˜Cat on Saturday with a second-placeshowing, she skated the course in a time of 16:27.  Lindsay Williams, who isredshirting this year, won the event in a time of 15:55.  Lindsey Weier wasfourth (16:41) and Jenny Wygant sixth (17:40) for the â€Â˜Cats.  The next two NMUskiers crossed the finish line in the top 10.  Laura DeWitt was ninth (17:55)and Kelly Ahern 10th (18:23).  Bibiane Mahy in 18th (21:01)was the final â€Â˜Cat to finish.


Wygant and DeWitt were the top two â€Â˜Cats to finish on Sundayin third (17:43) and fourth (17:47) respectively.  Ahern in sixth place (18:11)and Mahy in ninth (19:07) were the final two NMU skiers in the event.


This week the â€Â˜Cats will skate once again at home onSaturday (Dec. 14) and at MTU on Sunday.
