'Cats Fall To 0-3

The Northern Michigan University Menâ€Â™s Basketball team is winless afterthree games played as they fell to Minnesota-Moorhead 59-68 in tonightâ€Â™snon-conference contest

The Northern Michigan University Menâ€Â™s Basketball team is winlessafter three games played as they fell to Minnesota-Moorhead 59-68 in tonightâ€Â™snon-conference contest. Minnesota-Moorhead is now 5-0 on the year. 

 

In the first half the â€Â˜Cats shot forty-two percent from thefield as they connected on 13 of 31 shots. They connected on just three of 13 three-pointers (23%) and two of sixfree-throws (33%).  Unfortunately,Minnesota-Moorhead was equally as hot from the field as they were 13 for 28from the field (46%), six for ten from behind the three-point arc (60%) and twofor two from the free-throw line. 

 

The second half continued right where the first half leftoff as the teams traded made baskets. At the two minute mark the â€Â˜Cats had acrucial turnover which led to a seven-point deficit, but were able to come totake one point lead just two minutes later. Moorhead gained the lead back at 11:47 andnever turned back. 

 

On the night the â€Â˜Cats were led by Ricky Volcy who had 15points and 10 rebounds while newcomer Will Washington added 11 points.

 

The â€Â˜Cats are back in action tomorrow evening as they play Concordiaat 9:00 p.m.
