
MARQUETTE, Mich. â€Â“ Troy Mattson, the headwomenâ€Â™s basketball coach at Northern Michigan University, has announced thatthe following student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to attendNMU and play basketball for Wildcats:  Angie Leckson from Garden, Mich. andStephanie Piotrowski from Ida, Mich.
 Leckson, a 6-1 center, played at Big Bay de Noc High Schoolwhere she averaged 21.5 ppg and 14.7 rpg her senior season. She was a firstteam all-conference and all-U.P. (Class D) selection for this past season. â€ÂœAngie will add much needed size and scoring ability to our inside game. Sheis also an outstanding rebounder and passer with a really good understanding ofthe game,â€Â Mattson said.
Piotrowski, a 5-7 guard from Ida High School, averaged 15.2ppg, 2.5 apg, 3.0 spg and 4.0 rpg during her senior season. During her prepcareer, she scored over 1,000 career points. Â Piotrowski was named to the Top100 Best Players in Michigan list by the Detroit News/Free Press. Â Shewas a unanimous first team all-conference selection and was chosen to theall-region team as a first team pick. â€ÂœStephanie will add depth to our backcourt. She is an outstanding shooter and ball handler with a greatunderstanding of the game,â€Â Mattson added.
