MARQUETTE, Mich. â€Â“ The Northern Michigan University womenâ€Â™s swimming and diving team participated in a double-dual at the PEIFPool on Saturday along with Wayne State and Hillsdale.  The Aqua-â€Â˜Cats droppedboth ends to WSU 186-97 and to HC 139-138.


Anna Herman placed third in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.44)while teammate Emily Olson was fourth (1:05.34).  In the womenâ€Â™s 1000freestyle, Courtney Lowry led the squad with a fourth place showing (11:26.11). The 200 freestyle saw Katie Stamerjohn place third (2:07.04).  Olson came backto finish third in the 50 freestyle (26.01).


Mimi Marschall swam a 4:48.32 in the 400 I.M., which was goodfor second place.  Michelle Ruiz then won the first of her two victories of theday on the one-meter board with a score of 252.90.  A couple of events latershe captured the three-meter board (260.93).  After the one-meter board, Hermanwas second in the 200 butterfly (2:21.40) while teammate Lowry was fourth (2:23.42).


Marschall was the top finisher for NMU in the 100 freestylewith a 56.80, which was good for fourth place.  Sarah Dobratz in the nextevent, the 200 backstroke was third (2:17.29).  The final event of the meet,the 200 freestyle relay saw the team of Olson, Marschall, Dobratz and Hermanswim a 1:46.32 for second place.


The squad will be back in action the weekend of Dec. 2-3 atthe Minnesota-Moorehead Invitational.
