'Cats Finish 16th In The Nation

LITTLE LEADS THE 'CATS TO VICTORY

 

PAMONA, California â€Â“ StephanieHowe was the twenty-fifth runner and the first Wildcat to cross the finish lineat the 2005 NCAA II Championships.  Shecovered the course in 22:17.1.  SophomoreKelly Ahern was the second Wildcat with a time of 23:28.8 which was good forsixty-second place.  Brooke Rediger, Jessica Kalafut, Jane Stieber, Danielle Stein, and BibianeMahy also finished for the â€Â˜Cats in 24:17.3 (107th),24:28.8 (118th), 24:39.1 (128th), 24:49.3 (133rd),25:43.0 (159th), respectively. 

 

As a team the â€Â˜Cats finished in 16th place with368 points. Adams State won the team competition with 54 points while Grand Valley State came in second with69 points.  Grand Valleyâ€Â™sMandi Zemba won the race in21:01.7.  This is the sixth time in sixyears that the Northern Michigan Universitywomenâ€Â™s cross country team qualified for the NCAA II Championships.
