Godfrey Releases Route For "Run For A Reason"

NorthernMichigan University Athletic Director Ken Godfrey will begin his â€ÂœRun for aReasonâ€Â at 12:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20. Godfrey committed himself to a one-time challenge of running as far ashe can in exchange for financial contributions pledged for every mile hecompletes.  The money raised will be usedto fulfill some of the â€Âœwish listâ€Â items identified by NMU varsity and clubteams, as well as intramural and recreational programs. 


Godfreywill head east on Fair Avenueuntil Lake Shore Boulevardwhere he will turn onto the bike path going south.  Godfrey will follow the pike path along LakeSuperior past the Coast Guard station, through Mattson Park,and will continue through Founders Landing until he reaches Lake Street.  Godfrey will continue south on Lake Street untilhe reaches the bike path at the Carp River.  He will follow the bike path south to Lakewood Lane.  Godfrey will turn left onto Lakewood Lane andfollow it until it ends at which time he will head east on M-28. 


As of Thursday, Nov. 17, the department had collectedpledges for $1,800 per mile run by Godfrey. Tax-deductible pledges can still bemade by contacting the NMU Athletic Department at 906-227-2105.
