
MARQUETTE, Mich. â€Â“ Jerard Ajami from Madison, Wis. (Memorial) has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Northern Michigan University and play basketball for the Wildcats beginning with the2006-07 season, according to Dean Ellis, the head menâ€Â™s basketball coach.ÂÂÂ
Ajami, a 6-1 guard, played a role in helping Memorial defeatMilwaukee Vincent in the 2005 WIAA Division I state championship game. He cameoff the bench in the game to score eight points and grab six rebounds as Memorialwon, 63-55. Ajami plays for the Wisconsin Force AAU squad. He is currentlyranked 22nd among the class of 2006 players by
As the sixth man as a junior, Ajami averaged five points,three rebounds and two assists a game. â€ÂœJerard is a special player with theability to shoot deep range jump shots. He plays in a great program, MadisonMemorial, the defending Wisconsin State Champions,â€Â Ellis said. â€ÂœWith thegraduation of five players from our program this season, Jerard will have anopportunity to impact our program early in his career.â€ÂÂ
