BAY CITY, Mich. â€Â“ The 2005 Great LakesIntercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Conference Football Team hasbeen announced.  Northern Michigan University landed one player on the firstteam and three players on the second team.


Vincent Mayfield was selected on the first team as a widereceiver.  He led the â€Â˜Cats with 69 receptions for 898 yards.  Mayfield led theGLIAC in receptions/game with 6.90 rec/g and was second in receiving yards/gamewith 89.8 yds/g. Ã‚  He set a new NMU career record with 238 receptions. 


Named to the second team were Buddy Rivera at quarterback,Rob Boss along the offensive line and Jim Couretas at linebacker.  Rivera ledthe GLIAC in total offense with 2,556 yards (284.0 yds/g).  He threw for 2,151yards on 170-277-9 for 13 touchdowns.  Rivera was second in the conference inpassing average per game (239.0 avg) and third in passing efficiency (135.6eff.).  Couretas led the â€Â˜Cats in 2005 with 110 total tackles (59 solo, 51assisted).  He ranked fourth in the GLIAC in total tackles. Ã‚ 


Named as honorable mention selections were: Kyle Marotz(PK), Greg Frankenfield (OL), Chad Kurian (LB), Matt Shem (DB) and BradAnderson (RB).
