
MIDLAND, Mich. â€Â“ The Northern Michigan University womenâ€Â™s soccer team played its final conference game of the season atNorthwood on Sunday. Renee LeBlanc scored two of the goals in the 4-0 win. The â€Â˜Cats end Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play witha 4-4 record and are 9-7 overall. The Timberwolves are 7-11 overall and 0-8 inthe GLIAC.ÂÂÂ
LeBlanc scored her first goal of the game at 19:31 to givethe â€Â˜Cats the 1-0 lead. Lindsey Ogaard assisted on the goal. Less than fourminutes later, Amanda Gadomski scored the second goal of the game for NMU at23:15 as LeBlanc assisted.
LeBlanc scored her second goal of the contest and the â€Â˜Catsthird goal (3-0) at 75:11. Abigail Debiak assisted. The final goal of the gamecame off the foot of Lindsey Ogaard, which was her first of the season, at88:31. Gadomski assisted.ÂÂÂ
Karen LeBlanc recorded her fourth shutout of the season witha three-save performance against the Timberwolves. NMU had 24 shots with eighton goal. NU had six shots for the game as three were on target. The â€Â˜Cats hadsix corner kicks to four for the home team.
NMU will conclude the season next week against Finlandia inthe Superior Dome. The game is set for Saturday, Nov. 5 at 12 p.m.
