MARQUETTE, Mich. â€Â“ It was Senior Day at theVandament Arena as the Northern Michigan University volleyball squad hadanother big match.  The Ferris State University Bulldogs were in town for animportant conference encounter, which could decide the tournament pairings. After the dust had settled NMU came through with a four-game win (30-20, 30-20,26-30 and 30-25).  The win gives the â€Â˜Cats a 13-10 overall record and a 10-5slate in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).  FSU isnow 21-8 and 11-6 respectively.  NMU took care of two of the three teams abovethem in the GLIAC North standings over the weekend with the win over Grand Valley State yesterday. 


Nicole Hintze led the way for the â€Â˜Cats with 21 kills forthe match.  Sam Schulte added 18 kills, while two of the three seniors playingin their final regular season match, Andrea Smith and Holly Greenamyre added 14and 11 respectively. Ã‚  Greenamyre probably had the biggest kill of the match asshe hit the game-winner in the fourth game.


The â€Â˜Cats had seven service aces on the day.  Schulte hadfour while teammate Brittany McGowan added three.  McGowan added 50 assists and15 digs in the win.  The third senior, Liz Kohn, added 10 digs.  Greenamyre atthe net had one block solo and five block assists.


The â€Â˜Cats have three matches remaining on the schedule asthey are all on the road.  Friday night, Nov. 4 the â€Â˜Cats will face Wayne State in the make-up match from a couple of weeks ago in Detroit.  The team will then faceNorthwood on Saturday, Nov. 5 and Saginaw Valley on Sunday, Nov. 6.
