ERIE, Pa. â€Â“ The Northern Michigan University womenâ€Â™s soccer team split its trip to Erie, Pa. this weekend.  The â€Â˜Cats lost toMercyhurst on Friday, but defeated Gannon today by a score of 1-0.  NMU is now8-7-0 overall on the season and 3-4-0 in the Great Lakes IntercollegiateAthletic Conference (GLIAC).  The Golden Knights are 6-10-1 and 1-5-0respectively. 


Brittney Buchanan scored the lone goal on the afternoon andit stuck for the win.  She scored her seventh goal of the season, unassisted,at the 34:58 mark.  Buchanan scored the lone goal for the â€Â˜Cats againstMercyhurst on Friday.  Karen LeBlanc recorded her third shutout of the seasonwith her four saves.


NMU had a total of 16 shots for the afternoon with six ongoal.  GU had 18 shots with four on target.  The home team had a big advantageon the corner kicks with 13 as the â€Â˜Cats only had two. Ã‚ 


NMU will wrap up GLIAC play at Northwood a week from today(Oct. 30) at 10 a.m.  The â€Â˜Cats will finish the campaign against Finlandia onNov. 5 in the Superior Dome at 12 p.m.
