ASHLAND, Ohio â€Â“ The Northern Michigan University womenâ€Â™s soccer team ended its five-day, three-game road trip with a game at Ashland on Sunday afternoon.   NMU was defeated by the Eagles, 3-2, to endthe trip with a 2-1 slate.  Ã‚ With the loss the â€Â˜Cats are now 7-5 overall forthe 2005 campaign and 2-2 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate AthleticConference.  AU improves to 9-3 and 3-0 in the GLIAC.


The Eagles got on the board first with a goal 1:12 into thegame.  Renee LeBlanc tied the game with her 12th goal of the seasonless than a minute later (1:59).  Brittney Buchanan assisted on the goal.  AUtook the lead again at 2-1 with a goal by Caitlin Carducci at 12:12.


Amanda Gadomski tied the game at two-all with a goal at60:16.  Maria Manzo from Ashland scored what turned out to be the game-winner14 seconds later (60:30). 


NMU had eight shots for the game as six were on goal.  AUtallied 17 shots for the afternoon with 12 on target.  The home team had sixcorner kicks while the visitors had two.  Karen LeBlanc had nine saves on theday for the â€Â˜Cats in goal.


NMU will play their final home outside game of the season onSunday (Oct. 16) against Saginaw Valley.  The â€Â˜Cats will face Finlandia for thehome finale on Nov. 5 in the Superior Dome.
