MARQUETTE, Mich. â€Â“ After having its matchcancelled on Friday against Wayne State the Northern Michigan University womenâ€Â™s volleyball squad turned to the Hillsdale College Chargers on Saturdayafternoon.  The â€Â˜Cats won the match in three straight (30-23, 30-27 and 30-19)to stand at 10-7 overall on the season and 7-2 in the Great LakesIntercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).  The Chargers are now 14-6 and 7-2in the GLIAC.


The trio of Nicole Hintze, Sam Schulte and Andrea Smithcombined for 47 of the 57 kills the â€Â˜Cats served up for the match.  Hintze ledthe way with 19 kills as she was followed by Smith with 17 and Schulte added11.  Brittany McGowan led the match with 41 assists.


Defensively, Liz Kohn had 10 digs while McGowan and BreanneZaremba added nine each.  Holly Greenamyre at the net had one block solo andtwo block assists.  As a team, NMU had four team blocks for the match. Ã‚ ÃƒÃ‚‚  MeganElliot was on with her serve as she tallied three service aces for theafternoon. 


Next week the â€Â˜Cats hit the GLIAC trail with matches againstthe GLIAC Southâ€Â™s Ashland (Oct. 15) and Findlay (Oct. 16).
