ÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚“ Two Northern Michigan University football players were honored by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate AthleticConference (GLIAC) for their respective play against Mercyhurst on Saturdaynight.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ Brad Anderson (Hancock, Mich.) was named the GLIAC Offensive Player ofthe Week while teammate Chad Kurian (Ishpeming, Mich.) was selected the GLIACDefensive Player of the Week.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚
Anderson (So., RB, 5-9, 180), playing in only his secondgame for the Wildcats, scored three fourth-quarter touchdowns to lead NMU to acome-from-behind victory over Mercyhurst, 40-35.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ He had a game-high 137rushing yards on 17 carries (8.1 avg.), scoring on runs of two, six and 19yards.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ Anderson also caught two passes for six yards.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ His touchdown run ofsix yards with 8:16 left in the game gave the ÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚˜Cats the lead for good.
Kurian (Sr., LB, 5-10, 225) had an outstanding individualeffort in NMUÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚™s win over Mercyhurst.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ The senior linebacker tallied 11 totaltackles (eight solo, three assists), four tackles-for-loss (-25 yards),including three sacks (-21 yards), one interception and one forced fumble.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚
