
ST. PAUL, Minn. â€Â“ The Northern Michigan University womenâ€Â™s soccer team picked up their second win for the 2005 season with a3-1 win over Concordia University on Sunday afternoon. The â€Â˜Cats are now 2-2on the season.
Sara Allan knocked home the first goal for the â€Â˜Cats on theafternoon at 7:01 of the game. Michelle Gillespie assisted. Concordia tiedthe game at one-all with a goal at 23:18 then a little less than eight minuteslater (30:56) Renee LeBlanc scored the game-winner which gave NMU the 2-1lead. Colleen Klein was given the assist. LeBlanc currently has ateam-leading four goals on the season. Brittney Buchanan gave the â€Â˜Cats aninsurance goal at 74:15, on an assist from LeBlanc.
Tabitha Magnan was between the pipes for the â€Â˜Cats as shehad three saves on the day. Concordia had six corner kicks on the day to fivefor the â€Â˜Cats. NMU did have an advantage on shots on goal with 11 to four forthe home team.
The â€Â˜Cats for their next action will face Minnesota-Duluthon Saturday, Sept. 10 and St. Cloud on Sunday, Sept. 11. Both games will beplayed in Duluth, Minn.
