ROMEOVILLE, Ill. â€Â“ Two second half goals were notenough for the Northern Michigan University womenâ€Â™s soccer team (1-1) on Sundayas they lost at Lewis (1-1) by a 3-2 score.  For the â€Â˜Cats it was their firstroad game of the season.


Lewis jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Jenna Volpi scored herfirst goal, unassisted, of the season at 28:25.  Lewis made it 2-0 when AllisonWilkerson scored another unassisted goal at 68:01 of the game.  Renee LeBlanccut the lead to 2-1 when she scored her third goal in two games at 72:28 asSarah Scarpace assisted. 


Wilkerson then scored what turned out to be the game-winnerfor Lewis at 85:19.  The goal was unassisted.  Amanda Gadomski scored thesecond goal of the day for the â€Â˜Cats at 89:28 with an assist from ReneeLeBlanc.


NMU used two goal keepers on the day as Karen LeBlancstarted the game, played 28:25 of the game and gave up one goal and had onesave.  She was injured on the Flyers first goal.  Tabitha Magnan played therest of the way (61:35) and gave up two goals.  NMU did have six corner kickson the day as the home team had two.  The visitors kicked the ball on target 11times for the game. 


NMU will continue with their road odyssey this coming weekwhen they will play twice over the Labor Day Weekend.  First up will beWisconsin-Parkside on Friday, Sept. 2 which will be followed by a game atConcordia-St. Paul on Sunday, Sept. 4.
