MARQUETTE, Mich. â€Â“ Qi Wang the head volleyballcoach at Northern Michigan University has announced three more student-athleteswill be joining the volleyball program this fall.  Rachel Martinez, BreanneZaremba and Marisa Jordan will suit up for the â€Â˜Cats.  The trio will join SamanthaSchulte, Nikki Hintze and Julie Kohl who committed during the early signingperiod to make up the incoming class.


Martinez, a 5-9 setter from Milwaukee, Wis., has truesetting skills and sense according to Wang.  â€ÂœShe and our current setterBrittney (McGowan) will strengthen our setting position,â€Â Wang said.


Zaremba, a 5-10 hitter also from Milwaukee, Wis., according to Wang she has all-around skill and a fighting spirit.  â€ÂœShe will help ourteam from the right and left sides,â€Â Wang added.


Local product, Jordan from Marquette High School, a 5-9hitter, is very athletic and dedicated to volleyball according to Wang. Ã¢Ã‚€Ã‚ÂœMarisa (Jordan) has great potential to be an outside hitter to help the NMUvolleyball program,â€Â Wang said.


NMU opens preseason practice on August 8 in preparation forthe 2005 schedule which will begin at the UM-Duluth Tournament, August 25-27,against the Bulldogs.
