COLUMBUS, Ohio â€Â“ The American HockeyCoaches Association (AHCA) announced their annual All-American teams onThursday.  Tuomas Tarkki was named to the second team for the West.  Named tothe first team for the West was Curtis McElhinney from Colorado College.


Tarkki was the CCHAâ€Â™s 2004-05 Player of the Year, Goaltenderof the Year, a first team CCHA All-Conference selection and a Hobey BakerFinalist.  He led the conference in overall goaltending for the just concludedseason with a 2.07 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage.  Tarkkiled the CCHA in conference games with a 1.81 goals-against average and a .936save percentage.  For the season, Tarkki was 20-8-5 and had three shutouts.


Tarkki set a number of NMU records during his NMU career. His .924 career save percentage broke the old record that was held by DanRagusett and Craig Kowalski (.911).  Tarkki set NMU season records for savepercentage (.930) as he broke the record held by Kowalski that was set duringthe 2003-04 season (.918), and goals-against (2.07) that was held by Ragusettat 2.15 which was set during the 1999-00 season.   He ended the campaign beingranked nationally in save percentage (fourth) and goals-against average (10th).
