STOWE, Vt. â€Â“ Bryan Cook placed fifth in the menâ€Â™s 10Kclassic race on Thursday at the NCAA Skiing Championships.  Cook covered thecourse in a time of 31:34.2 as Rene Reisshauer from the University of Denver won the event with a clocking of 30:49.1.  The fifth place finish earned Cook NCAAAll-America honors.


Cook was the top American in the race.  Two other NMU skierswere in the event with Bret Bedard finishing 21st with a time of32:55.0 and teammate Gus Kaeding was 25th (33:19.0). 


After two days the â€Â˜Cats are in ninth place with 186.0points.  The University of Denver leads the team title chase with 369.0points.  At nationals it is a combined menâ€Â™s and womenâ€Â™s team score and alpineskiing is also contested at nationals.  The skiers will race again on Saturday(March 12) in the 20K freestyle technique race.
