Alan Swanson Designated As One Of The Ccha's Scholar-athletes
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. ÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚“ Alan Swansonhas been designated as one of the CCHAÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚™s 2004-05 Scholar-Athletes of the Year.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ Each CCHA school is allowed to nominate a player for the CCHA Scholar-Athleteof the Year which will be announced at the 2005 CCHA Awards.
Swanson, a senior, forward from Marquette is majoring inconstruction management.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ He will graduate from NMU in May.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚
The faculty representative at each school, in consultationwith the head coach, selected the institutionÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚™s Scholar-Athlete of the Year.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ Each schoolÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚™s Scholar-Athlete serves as the schoolÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚™s nominee for CCHAScholar-Athlete of the Year; Michigan State did not nominate a Scholar-Athleteof the Year.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚
Nominees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 through the fallterm of the selection year to receive the schoolÃƒƒÃ‚¢Ãƒ‚Ã‚€Ãƒ‚Ã‚™s Scholar-Athlete of the Yearaward.ÃƒƒÃ‚‚Ãƒ‚Ã‚ The CCHA Scholar-Athlete of the Year will be selected by the 12 facultyrepresentatives, voting will be based on a system awarding five points for afirst-place vote, three points for a second-place vote and one point for athird-place vote.
