FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. â€Â“ Alan Swansonhas been designated as one of the CCHAâ€Â™s 2004-05 Scholar-Athletes of the Year. Each CCHA school is allowed to nominate a player for the CCHA Scholar-Athleteof the Year which will be announced at the 2005 CCHA Awards.


Swanson, a senior, forward from Marquette is majoring inconstruction management.  He will graduate from NMU in May. 


The faculty representative at each school, in consultationwith the head coach, selected the institutionâ€Â™s Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Each schoolâ€Â™s Scholar-Athlete serves as the schoolâ€Â™s nominee for CCHAScholar-Athlete of the Year; Michigan State did not nominate a Scholar-Athleteof the Year. 


Nominees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 through the fallterm of the selection year to receive the schoolâ€Â™s Scholar-Athlete of the Yearaward.  The CCHA Scholar-Athlete of the Year will be selected by the 12 facultyrepresentatives, voting will be based on a system awarding five points for afirst-place vote, three points for a second-place vote and one point for athird-place vote.
