FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. â€Â“ Two Northern Michigan University hockey players were selected as CCHA Players of the Week for theirperformances against Ferris State over the weekend.  Andrew Contois was namedthe Offensive Player of the Week while Tuomas Tarkki was named the Goaltenderof the Week.  For Contois this is the third time this season he has beenselected while this is the second honor for Tarkki this season. 


Contois (4-1-5, +1), the junior from Marquette, fired fourgoals in Saturdayâ€Â™s 6-3 win over the Bulldogs after registering an assist inFridayâ€Â™s 5-2 victory.  He leads the â€Â˜Cats with 17 overall goals on the seasonand has 32 points (17-15-32).  Contois currently has 15 goals in conferencegames as he is tied for sixth in the CCHA.


Tarkki, the senior from Rauma, Finland, blocked 64-of-69shots (.927), including 37 in a Perani Cup first-star performance on Friday, asthe â€Â˜Cats took two games at Ferris.  Tarkki currently leads the CCHAgoaltenders for all games (16-6-6; 2.00; .931) and in conference action  (14-4-2;1.79; .936).
