UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. â€Â“ After the first dayof competition at the 2005 GLIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships the Northern Michigan University womenâ€Â™s track and field team is currently tied for seventhplace with six points out of nine teams.  The â€Â˜Cats are tied with Lake SuperiorState.  Ashland is leading the team competition with 48 points.


NMU receivedtheir points from Leslie Luehmann as she was seventh in the long jump with aleap of 17-00.75.  The distance medley relay of Jessica Kalafut, Kaylee Laakso,Stephanie Mishica and Brooke Rediger placed fifth with a time of 12:17.82.  Theâ€Â˜Cats improved their NCAA II provisional cut time with the run.


Day two of thechampionships are tomorrow (Feb. 26) at Saginaw Valley State University.
