DETROIT, Mich. â€Â“ The water has stopped turningat the 2005 GLIAC Swimming and Diving Championships which were held at Wayne State University.  Northern Michigan University finished in fifth place at the meetwith 351.50 points.  Indianapolis captured the team title with 835 points.


Saturday was the final day of competition as LindseyVermillion was seventh in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 18:17.00. Sarah Dobratz swam in the big finals in the 200 backstroke and was seventh(2:11.68).  Cricket Knight then placed eighth in the 100 freestyle (55.16).


The 200 breaststroke was the next event and Larisa Grahamwas ninth (2:29.09).  Lindsey Fortney swam a 2:50.65 in the 200 butterfly whichwas good for 16th place.


The final event of the meet was the 400 freestyle relay.  MimiMarschall, Anna Herman, Graham and Knight were the relay representing NMU and theyswam a 3:37.70 which was good enough for third place.
