CABLE, Wis. â€Â“ The menâ€Â™s cross country ski team atNorthern Michigan University competed at the NorAm Super Tour which was held atthe Telemark Resort over the weekend in Cable, Wis.  On Saturday (Jan. 29) themen competed in the 10K classic race and on Sunday (Jan. 30) it was the 15Kfreestyle event.


Bryan Cook led the â€Â˜Cats on Saturday with a third placeshowing in the classic with a time of 32:46.97 about 56 seconds behind thewinner.  The duo from Alaska Fairbanks, Thomas Oyberg and Erik Wickstrom werefirst and second in the event with times of 31:50.40 and 32:34.23respectively.  Fourth and fifth places belonged to the â€Â˜Cats as Bret Bedard andGus Kaeding crossed the finish line in 33:45.20 and 33:58.65. 


Bill Bowler in eighth place (34:03.78), Adriaan Ostrander(35:11.42) in 12th and Justin Singleton in 17th(35:52.05) rounded out the skiers for NMU on the day.


Cook again on Sunday led the â€Â˜Cats with a fifth place finishin the freestyle race as he covered the course in 36:14.31.  The Nanooks tookthe first four places and had five of the top six skiers in the race.  Oybergwon the event with a time of 35:03.37. 


NMU placed three more skiers in the top 10 as Bowler wasseventh (36:50.89) as he was followed by Singleton in eighth place (36:53.49)and Bedard in ninth (37:08.78).  Kaeding was the final NMU skier to cross thefinish line in 16th place (37:53.52).


The â€Â˜Cats will be in action again on Feb. 12-13 at theCentral Conference Championships which will be held at St. Cloud, Minn.
